GOLDEN WEDDING.

An interesting event took place at Marton yesterday, when Mr and Mrs Jolianns Zajonskowski celebrated their goldou'wedding. There ■was a large gathering of relatives and friends, including two married sons, four married daughters, 27 grandchildren, and two great-grand-children. At 11 a.m. a service was conducted at the Lutheran Church by Pastor Teyler. The aged couplestill hearty ami robust—were escortec to the altar by six grandchildren—throe girls dressod in pretty white frocks, and threo boys, all carrying bunches of flowers. Miss Gertie Nitschke, also a gradchild, played the organ during the ceremony. After singing a hymn Pastor. Toyior read the 128th Psalm and then addressed the couple, taking for his text the words of the Prophet Samuel in I Samuel, VII , 12. A prayer followed, and finally God's blessings wevo invoked and the Benediction pronounced. At the conclusion of the celebration the youngest grandchild—a daughter of Mr George Edwards—was baptised. The church was crowded with people and the service was very impressive. The guests were then driven to Mr and Mrs Zajonskowski's home and entertained to a sumptuous breakfast. Congratulatory speeches were made, and the health of the happy couple was enthusiastically honoured. The speakers offered their heartiest congratulations on behalf of the large assemblage, and referred to the amiable qualities possessed by Mr and Mrs Zajonskowski who had proved themselves worthy residents of the town. Best wishes were extended them for continued happiness, good health aud prosperity. Pastor Teyler suitably acknowledged the toast. Numerous congratulatory messages were received from all parts of the colony, and Mr and Mrs Zajonskowski were the recipients of many handsome presents. Mr and Mrs Zajonskowski are 75 years of age, arrived in the colony in 1874, and have lived in Marton for 33 years. Mr Zajonskowski was born in 1832 at Borschan, Preuss Stargart, Danzig.-
