WELLINGTON LAND BOARD.

The Land Board continued its sitting on Friday. J. G-. Grogan and T. B. Insoll wrote asking the Board to reconsider application to transfer section 13, hloqk 11, etc., Kaitieke, to T. B. Insoll.—Application granted conditionally. The application of J. A. Macdonald to let the grazing on section 17, block 11, Hantapn, for ten months while he „is absent in Canada, was approved. J. F. Kavan’s application to let for twleve months the house on section 21, Mataroa Village, was approved, applicant promising ;to reside continuously after 13 months. W. Currie was granted permission to sub-lease section 83, block 4, Umntoi, to Messrs A. H. and O. Smith for three years at an annual rental of £l7 10s for the first year and £B6 for subsequent years. The ranger reported on the application of Mr Spooner to sub-let part of his run in the Raketapanma block to W. T. Irvine for a mill site, tramway rights, etc.—The application was approved on the usual conditions, provided sawdust and waste timber be deposited at least four chains clear of the bush and not allowed into any watercourse; the sublessee to have no right to any timber or firewood on Crown laud. A valuation was received from the ranger of section 22, block 8, Tiriraukawa, and it was resolved to fix the price at £3 10s per acre and to recommend it for sale to O. Rowling on lease-in-perpetuity conditions, etc.

There was no power to grant the request of H. W. Jackson, .lessee of section 4, block 3, Rowa, for a temporary lease of sections 13 and 14, Langdale township. John Woolston’s application for a. lease of 50 acres of natural clearing adjoining section 3, block 16, Kaitioke, was declined. It was resolved to pay into the Public Account the sum of £1 _los from the amount received for improvements on section 31, Mangawoka Village, the balance of £7O 15s to be paid to whoever may be found entitled to it.

. It was resolved on -the report of the ranger not to let until the railway is 'opened to Niuia township the cutting of flax on Campion’s run, No. 3 Raugipo, and adjacent lands.

J. T. Carr’s proposals with regard to taking up Iris residence on section 38, block 6, Hautapu, were regarded as satisfactory. Part payment of arrears of rental of section 13, block 8, Rangitoto, Linton, will be accepted and forfeiture stayed for the present. The forfeiture of the lessee’s interest in section 5, block 16, Hautapu, was rescinded, the conditions being now complied with.
