The beef market is quiet, but firm, and quotations are and 3d for hinds and fores respectively. The butter market is dull owing to the poor demand experienced. Choice Mew Zealand is quoted at 975, Argentine 90s, Siberian 90s, and Danish 101 s per cwt. The choose market is steady at 62s per cwt. f The hemp market is quiet at a I decline. The Cocksfoot seed market is quiet, and buyers are uot keen to do business, as they are "waiting for reports concerning the American crop; I7lb bright clean New Zealand seed is quoted-at 52s per cwt. Woo!, Skin, Hide and Tallow Sale. \ The Kovr Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report: — At our fortnightly sale to-day we offered 25 bales and a number of sacks of vrcol, a fairly large Quantity of skins rani hides and a small lot of tallow. In sympathy with the uncertain feeling in the wool markets of Europe, which recent cables indicate, ouv local sales to-day displayed an easier tone, bidding lacked spirit and prices must be quoted lower than those ruling a fortnight ago for all classes of produce. We should quote the decline in values to be about Jd per lb for wool, to ”d for skins, and Sd to Id per lb for hides. We quote : Wool; Ccarso crossbred, Sid to 9i; rough and seedy crossbred, 7i cl to 8d ; lambs crutchings, sidto Gd ; ewes orutching«, seedy, 4)d to CJd ; pieces, 3acl to sd. There was a good attendance of buyers and prices ruled on the whole up to lust week, weauers being if anything a little easier. A small entry of poultry sold at improved prices. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd. report on their [usual weekly sale at Feilding on Friday as follows: There was a fair yarding of sheep, considering the time of year and the recent heavy rains. The following is a list of the prices realised: — medium lambs 9s Gd to 10s Gd, inferior lambs 8s to Ss lOd, cull lambs os Gd to Gs. There was a medium entry of cattle. Special entry of '2% j year bullocks £3 to £5 18s, do - heifers in calf £5, on account of Mansoirs estate Jersey heifers in calf £5 5s to £5 10s, young Jersey 7 bulls 2gus. Messrs J. H. Nixon and Co. report as under: —At Wanganui on the 34th lust, wc had a heavy yarding of both sheep and cattle, and were favoured with a good attendance of buyers. Sheep sold well, nearly all the lines being disposed of before the close of the sale. Young cattle and fat cows found a ready sale.
