Sandon Football Club. A special meeting of the Sandon Football Club was held on Saturday. The business before the meeting was to ascertain definitely the feelmgs of players in respect to tho governing body tho season’s games would Tw played under. During the week a section of tho players had. made overtures to the Manawatu Union, asking that body to accept the nomination of a combined team of Awahuri and Sando players, the new team to he known as the Huimai. The remaining players strongly resented this proposal, and in the interest of tho club, the Secretary had nominated with the Foxtou Sub-Union and he had called tho meeting for tho purpose of allowing those interested tho option of confirming ITis action and to discuss any alternate proposal. Mr R. McNae, captain, explained that his action in assisting to form tho cfwrbiued club was because he was led to believe that the Sand on team was unable to put a strong enough team in the field without assistance. Ho claimed the support of seven other players who had agreed to play in the combined team. An animated discussion took place and upon a test motion being put to the meeting it was deeded to endorse the secretary’s action and play in the Foxton sub-union as hitherto. On the question being put to them tho dissenting members, including the captain and vice-captain, said that they preferred to play with Awahuri and handed in their resignations, which were accepted. Tho election of another captain and vice-captain was held over till another date.

The Secretary of Rangitike i Rugby Union has received an application from tho Utiku Football Club for affiliation to Raugitikei Union. The Te Aroha, Ouepuhi, Football Club have nominated a junior and third class team for [the Raugitikei cup contests.
