PARAEKARETU.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) A meeting of the Paraekaretu Sports Committee was held on Wednesday last at the office of the Rata Dairy Company. The balance sheet was presented, and showed a profit of slightly over £7 as the result of this yoar's meeting. Thore were still a few accounts to be paid and some mouey to como in from various sources, so the exact balance could not bo stated, but the above mentioned amount can be considered as correct to within a few shillings. This amount, together with the balance in hand from previous meetings, will give the committee a satisfactory credit balance to start their next meeting on. A donation of 83s was voted towards the funds of the Silverhope Hall. Votes of thanks were passed to the officers who so ably assisted in mating the day's sport a success, and a similar vote was also passed to the following gentlemen, who gave trophies and donations—Messrs W. S.fHarshall, Wm. Hammond, J. G. Barthorpe, J. Aiken, A. H. Bill, $; McKenzie, G. T. Avery, T. T-; Watt, A. S. Brodber,' and R. field'. ■-' " '• -- - '
