Durnan has cabled a challenge to row George Towns for the world's championship in England. Durnan is evidently unaware that George handed the championship to Charles, but if he expresses willingness to row either of the brothers it is considered likely that Charlie will be willing to accept. The Towns brothers are absent in the country.
