MR ANDREW MACK.

' Mr J. O. Williamson's next attraction for Marton will be tho appearance of Mr Andrew Mack, an actor vocalist of note in the United States, and an entirely new company. In a drama entitled "Tom Moore" Mr Mack's season will bo limited to" one night at tho Opera House on Wednesday evening, Ist May. Two years ago Mr Mack visited Australia with much success, but owing to the limited term allowed by his American engagements was unable to include New Zealand in his tour. However, on the present occasion he started iji Wellington, where his Easter _ season has proved a most enthusiastic success. The play chosen for presentation in Marton was written expressly for him and has won the most unanimous popularity. It will be interpreted by his own company specially engaged by him for this tour of Australasia. Since Dion Bouoicault gave Irish dramas with such wide and overwhelming popularity in this country, an important evolution has takon place in what may bs termed tho old-fashioned stage Irishman, and the whole tono and atmosphere of this class of entertainment, so that to the older generation of playgoers, Mr Mack's productions will form a subject for much interesting comparison," and the'younger generation will be afforded the privilege of witnessing really adequate representations of Irish drama for the first time. Box plans will be opened at Mogridgo's on Saturday morning next, 27th April..
