Winter Show. The fifth annual national Winter Dairy Show and Dairyman's Convention, to be held at Palmerston North in June next, promises in many ways to be a great advance on those previously held. Applications for space in the machinery hall closed on Saturday, and the space reserved for moving dairy machinery, dairy plants, and working oil engines requires some 8000 square feet, in addition to which some 250 feet of shafting is required to convey the naoessary power for the working exhibits. The rlrms which intend exhibiting are from all over the eolony, and include Messrs J. B. MoEwan and Co., Holben and Kirk. John Chambers and Son, J. J. Niven and Co., Chas. Dahl, N.Z Loan Co.. Mason, Strnthers and Co., MoMillan and Frederic, D. P. Davidson, J. Hopkirk, Donald and Bon, Levin and Co., Harvey Sons and Cannon, Barraud and Abraham, Adam Burges, Hanson and Barr, A. and P. Food Co., Beid and Gray, Fresh Food and Ice j Co., John Anderson, N. Andrew, and many others. The working dairy machinery division will comprise refrigerators, dairy facto% appliances, churns, and all kinds of dairy factory novelties and requisites necessary to the equipment of a modern factory. In addition there will bo milking machines and a working exhibit of the L-K-G milker on the cow 3 on the Show Grounds adjoining the Winter Show buildings. The department of Agriculture are making an exhibit requiring some GOO square feet, and the exhibit will include grasses, noxious weeds, poultry, canned goods, wines, fruits, roots, cereals," and speoimensof insect pests or natural enemies, and will be supple mented with features from the Exhibition. The Dairymen's Convention, under the auspices of the National Dairy Association of N.Z., Ltd., and N.Z. Factory Butter and Cheese Makers' Association, will last two days, and the programme includes matters of considerable import to dairymen. For the dairy factory classes 47 factories have entered for tho butter classes and 10 factories for the cheese classes. Mr J. H. Shaw, of Christchurch, has accepted the position of judge for the Champion Poultry Show held in connection with the Winter Show. The Levin Horticultural Society have notified their intention of making a district exhibit of considerable proportions. Tho following are the senior stewards appointed to act in connection with the coming Winter Show:—Dairy produce, L. Wallis ; fruit and vegetables, W. McKenzio; faim roots, S. II Lancaster; natural history, J. Balsillie ; fat stock, J. McCrea; machinery, C. Dunk ; half-ton cheese, J. T. Lang; poultry, J. Jarvis; guessing competitions, S. W. Luxford; hunters' competition, D. Fringle ; gates, J. M. Johnston. i
