There were a largo number of competitors in this. event, one tie for second and third places, and five for fourth, the runs off resulting as above. The competitions will be continued to-morrow. Forty seconds was taken as a standard, and the teams approaching that time are as follows; Hastings 37 l-sth, Waihi 37 2-sths, Stratford 38 4-sths, Marton, Palmerston North 39 C-oths, Hokikitika 40, Dunedin South 40 l-oth, West-port 40 4-stlis.
