LOCAL AND GENERAL.
The adjourned monthly meeting of the Pukekohe Borough Council takes place to-morrow (Wednesday) evening.
Mr H R. Mackenzie, hy ad'vt. in this issue, appeals to members of the NZ Farmers' Fertilizer Co, Ltd., for support for his candidature as a member of tue Company's directorate Mr Mackenzie is well known as the chairman of the Manukau County Council and as the representative of Franklin and Manukau Counties on the Auckland Harbour Board.
Seen by one of the Time's reporters to-day, Mr Wily, who \h undertaking the formation of the Franklin Branch of the Navy League, said he was satisfied with the support he had so far received, some sixty members having joined. The result would no doubt be a strong branch for the County. It was hoped to obtain the services of the Rev W. G Monckton to deliver one of his addresses the evening the branch was inaugurated and the Mayor of Pukekohe had kindly consented to preside.
