ARARIMU

THE DAIRYING INDUSTRY. Mr H. E. Pacey, Managing Director of the New Zealand Dairy Association, met a large number of suppliers at Ararimu on Saturday week and gave a very full account of the Association's operations during the past year, as also a forecast of the prospects for the coming season.

A new departure is to be made in Ararimu next year, when the home separation system is to replace the creamery which has served the district for upwards of 25 years. Mr Pacey premised the meeting that a further effort would be made to ship the district's cream, together with the supplies from Kama Kama, at Runciman Station instead of Drury, the suppliers seeing no wisdom in carting a waggon-load of cream three-quarters of a mile extra just for the sake of railing it the same distance back again. Other matters of interest, such as the shipping difficulties and the butter-fat levy, were also discussed and Mr Pacey announced that provided the balance of butter on hand was shipped and sold at anything like present ruling rates a substantial bonus to shareholders would be forthcoming.
