WUANGAKATA PATBIUUC LEAGUE
The monthly meiirg of the above organisation was held on Saturday last in the school room, a fair number of members and visitors being present The articles to be sent to Chaphin McDonald were on view and were subsequently paiked and forwarded to him. There were eleven pairs of pyjamas, eleven shirts, and twelve of each ot the following articles, viz , sox, soap, towels and handkerchiefs. All the residents help in come way, either with monthly subscriptions, sswing, or both, so tbe members of tha League hepe to have a box to send each month Mere interest than usual was taken in this meeting, as the winner of the gift camuole was to be decide.l. 'J he seal on the bottle was broken by Mr lowing and the bottle was found to contain 228 peas. Mr C. Aisilbie, who guessed -27, was the nearest, so ho wou the Rift. The thanks of the League are due to Miss Brewster for her work, as by it the League benefit- by JC-i LJi. Afternoon tea was dispensed and Iba lid was collected.
