OTAUA DRAINAGE.
The Recent Appeals. Upon enquiry we ha>e ascertained that the Magistrate has the records in the Otaua Drainage Appeal cases, heard in the Wai .ku Court recently, away with him, so that for the present we are unable to furnish the details. Mr Fraser is cunsidsring some law points on thi qu sti m of the i.avigatility of the rivers. So far, it would appear that out of sixteen appeals those of the following were not upheld, namely, E. Deed, R. Morrison, J. Muir, C. Bailey and Mis HJmes. The other appellants, with the exception of Mr M"'ion, got only part of what thej asked for. Thess were—Ray Holme?, W. C. Motion, F. Parker, T. McDonnell, J. Harri», Mrs Harris, C. BisehofF, P. Denize, U. Hull, R. Hull.
