Some month •! ago the Borough Council approached the County Council in legard to the establishment of a pound. Th? County Council considering t'leir interes s were not identical with those of the borough, nplied that they could not see thiir way to co-operate. It therefore appears tl.at the Borough Council must undertake the task themselves. "Tfce log paddock" has heen freely u-ed duri g the summer, and if similar liberal patronage is to be bestowed in the winter we are afraid .he footpaths will he worse than ever vVe are confident that any action taken by the Council to secure a pound and put a stop to the nuisance of straying 9toek will he heartily approved by a majority of the residents of Pukekohe
