Meeting of Council
Tlia March meeting of the Franklin L'ounty Council was held in Pukekohe yesterday. Amongst the more important matters dealt with was the decision to take ovtr a number of roads by declaring them to be County roads. I his action will have a considerable effect upon the work of the Road Boards, as their chief cause of expenditure will be removed. !t was arranged to take a poll in Hui.ua in connection 'with the loan to be raised to enable Hunua to take advantage ot the Government sub sidies. On Cr Flanagan's motion it was decided to spend £2Ol on the Great Souih road and to apply to ihe Government for a X, for X subsidy. A considerable amount of general husiness was trai sacted. A full report will appear in Tuesday's "Times," and every ratepayer in the Franklin County should read it.
