LICHFIELD NEWS

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE On the evening of June 12, the members of the Lichfield Women’s Institute entertained' their husbands and escorts to a dinner in the Lichfield Hall. About 40 couples sat down to a sumptuous- repast. The committee was responsible for the entertainment for the evening. Mr. Harold Graham,' the institute’s auditor, officiated as toastmaster. The dinner was partaken of during the blackout, which resulted in the tables looking most effective in the candle-light. After dinner a humorous sketch entitled “On Institute Day” was presented. Those taking part were Mesdames Jamieson, Gough, John Hamilton, Adden brooke, Jim Hamilton, Hill and Rea. The guests were next entertained with a series of games. The winners of the points prize were Mr. C, Vosper and Mrs. Dempster; musical sticks, Mr. Schieker and Mrs. Rea; skating game, Mr. I. Kinloch, junr., and Mrs. R. Hamilton. At the conclusion of a waltz, sup pe~ was served, during which, on behalf of the husbands and escorts present, Mr. J. ’Gough thanked the institute for a most enjoyable evening.
