ADDITIONAL WOOL PAYMENT

MEAT SCHEDULE PRICES Agreement With Meat Exporters The New Zealand Meat Producers Board hag announced that agreement has been reached with meat exporters ' covering payment for the increased value of wool over and above that embodied in the opening schedule structure. The wool values in the opening schedule structure, which have not been varied since the commencement of the season, were the reserve prices set by the New Zealand Wool Disposal Commission. Under the agreement retrospective payments will be made on scheduled stock .killed from the commencement of the season till May 31, provided always that such retrospective payments are warranted ’by realisations. Since it appears likely that a fair proportion of slipe wool may not be disposed of for several months, there will be the attendant delay in. assessing the true position. Every endeavour will be made, however, to ensure that the matter ■will be dealt'with as promptly as possible. ■> As the’ amount of stock killed from May 31 until the end of the export season is very small by comparison, a settlement was reached with the meat exporters', whereby the following schedule rises dating from June' 2 would be accepted in full settlement of all claims fcr increased wool values on stock killed from that date until the end of the season: North and South Island: Lambs, id per lb of meat; wethers and ewes 3-8 d per lb meat. These rises were in addition to th:;e dating from June 2.
