CHURCH ANNIVERSARY
LICHFIELD FUNCTION Oh Wednesday evening of last week the first anniversary service was held in the Lichfield Interdenomination Church, about 70 residents attending. Presbyterian, Anglican, and Methodist clergy took part in the service. Unfortunately, Pastor 'Grigs, M.A., of the Biaptist Church, was unable to attend. Opportunity was taken on this occasion to dedicate the baptismal font, 1 the total cost of which was borne by the children of the Lichfield school, and built of Lichfield stone, the Rev. A. McDonald taking this part, of the service. Supper was partaken of in the local hall, immediately after the service. Following this, the chairman of the church committee gave a brief resume of his committee’s activities over the year. The Rev. I. Muir, Presbyterian minister, also spoke. He said’ that as a newcomer to the district he wished to congratulate the Lichfield people on the accomplishment of a very fine work in making over the old stone bank, and for their broadmindedness and appreciation of what was necessary in combining the Protestant faith ini this project. The Rev. Muir concluded by wishing the people of this area all success in the future in furthering the work of God.
