WAIKATO PROVINCE Mr. F. N. Smith New President Mr. F. N. Smith, of Kiwitahi, was elected president of Federated Farmers* of New Zealand' (Waikato Province), on Wednesday, when the second/ provincial conference was continued. There was a large attendance of members, including Mr. Hallyburton Johnstone, of Whatawhata, who was unanimously elected a life member of the federation in recognition of his services in the interests of farmers. Regret at the resignation of Mr. N. F. Taylor, provincial organiser, was expressed and tributes to his work paid. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. F. N. Smith; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. Butler, 'G. A. Walsh; sub-provincial nominees, Messrs. W. N. Perry (Cambridge), A. C. Parker (Huntly), W. Aikin (Morrinsville), R. J. Church (Hamilton), S. Smith (Te Awamutu), R. S. Bates (Te Aroha), J. J. Shine (Matamata), J. B. Dempster (Otorohanga), L. K. Wilson (Waitomo).
