The winner of the Halkett medal trophy was Freeman, 79—13, 66, with Jordan 84—16, 68, and Root 91—22, 69. In the first round of the Barr Brown Cup: Comes beat Williams, 2/1; Howland beat Burkitt, 2 up; Frank Tomalin beat S. Haworth, 2 up.
