PUTARURU HUNT

SECOND MEET OF SEASON A large field, including a record number of juvenile followers, turned- out for the second- meet of the season of the Putaruru Ward of the Waikato Hunt Club on Wednesday of last week. After morning tea had been served at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. E. D. White, the hounds moved off across Mr, White’s property. A hare was put up on Mr. E. Speake’s farm, resulting in a fast run in the direction of the Oraka River, which the hare crossed. The hounds were then brought back into open country, where another hare was scented, and after a short run the hounds made a kill. The hunt crossed the farms of Messrs. Harris and I.e Quesne on their eventual run home.

At the conclusion of the afternoon tea, the Master, Mr. Wyn Brown, thanked Mr. and Mrs. White for the use of their homestead as a base, and in addition thanked Messr s J. Le Quesne, E. Speaks, G. W. Harris, Green, C. A. Bishop and J. W. Reid for the use of their properties, which is ideal bunting country. Followers were: Messrs. Wyit Brown (Master), on Eureka; 11. J, W. Scott, on Ginger; M. C.
