WRIGLEY—SUTHERLAND A wedding of interest was l solemnised on May 17 in St. Andrew’s Church, Matamata, when Muriel Jean, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Sutherland, of Okauia, was married to Arthur Cedric Wrigley, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Wrigley, of Turanga-o-moana. The Rev. Murray H. Feist ofliciat.ed, and Mr. W. J. G. Sharp presided at the organ. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, wearing a charming gown of ivory French silk velvet, featuring a circular train, and fitting sleeves pointed over the wrists. Her beautifu 1 hand-em-broidered veil was held in place by a spray of orange blossoms, and formed' a second train. A bouquet of lily of the valley, white chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern was carried. The bride’s three sisters, Heather, Mary and Flora, attended as bridesmaids, frocked in French silk velvet of pink, blue and apricot, respectively. They canned bouquets of chrysanthemums, rosebuds and earnations to match their frocks, and wore sprays of the same flowers in their hai>r. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Eric Wrigley. The reception was held at the Rialto tearooms, Mrs. Sutherland receiving the guests wearing a smart two-piece suit of cinnamon with brown accessories, and a shoulder spray in autumn tints. Mrs. Wrigley, the bridegroom’s mother, assisted, wearing a chic suit of blue, with navy accessories, and a cyclamen shoulder spray. The bride chose a frock of gold crepe, and a fawn coat, with rust accessories, for travelling. HARRIS—PURDY A pretty wedding was solemnised in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Matamata, when Constance Mary, sixth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Purdy, of Tirau, was married to Clifford Cranstone, second son of Mr. and M"s. C. S. Harris, of Hinuera. The Ilev. M. 11. Feist, M.A., officiated The bride wore a graceful gown sweetheart neckline edged with of heavy white satin, featuring a pleated tulle, which continued down either edge of the front panel and round the long train,. The fullygathetred skirt was topped by a fitting bodice, buttoned down the back to the semi-low waistline. Circles of appliqued lace ornamented the shoulder line, and an embroidered veil of silk tulle was held in place by a topknot of white lilies. She carried a shower bouquet of white chrysanthemums and nerines intembingled with maidenhair and asparagus fern. Miss Hazel Purdy, sister of the bride, and Miss Ina Harris, Rotorua, sister of the groom, maided the bride. They were frocked alike in dainty shell pink French sheer, studded with small gold tinsel flowers. Cut on similar lines to the briid'e’sv the Srcc'ks were edged at sweetheart neck and tapering waistline with pink pleated tulle. Matching tullee mittens were worn .and a spray of toning lilies in the hair. The shower bouquets were made of pink chrysanthemums and nerines. Their gold horseshoe necklets were the gift of the groom. The flower girls, Lillian Aroa and Margaret Purdy, were dressed alike in blue marquisette. They wore pink sprays in their hair and carfried posies of pink .and blue flowers. Their gold bangles were the groom’s gift. Mr. Malcolm Smith, Rotorua, was (best man, and Mr. Clifford Forkett, of Cambridge, groomsman. As she was leaving the chutreh the bride was presented with am ornamented good luck horseshoe by her niece, little Colleen Purdy. The reception was held at the Rialto tearooms, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a smart black suit with matching accessories, and a shoulder spray of deep red roses. She was; assisted by the bridegroom's mother, who wore a navy embroidered fuchsia suit with toning shoulder spray and navy accessories. When the young couple left on a tour of the South Island, the bride wore an aquamarine suit with black accessories, and a contrasting shoulder spray of orchids and maidenhair fern.
