NOTICE OF INTENTION TO LEVY BATES. Notice is hereby given that it is the intention of the Matamata County Council, at a Meeting to be held at the Council Chambers, Tirau, on Thursday, the 12th day of June, 1947, to make and levy under the provisions of Section 120 of the Counties Act, 1920, Section 2 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931, and of the Rating Act, 1925, a General Rate of one penny and three eighths of a penny in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the County of Matamata, such General Rate to be included in an amalgamated rate of twopence halfpenny (2id) in the pound to be collected in lieu of the following rates: — General Rate: lid in the f. Hospital Separate Rate: 9/16d in the £. SPECIAL RATES: Conversion Loan No. 1: 19/64d in the £. Conversion Loan No- 2: 5/64d in the £. Main Roads Loan: 3/16d in the £.. That the following amounts in the pound will be collected in respect of Special Recurring Rates levied to provide interest and principal charges on the undermentioned loans:— Tirau Water Supply: 3/16d. Tokoroa Memorial Hail: l/30d. Waharoa Drainage: A, 2-5/32d; B, 1- ; C, l-19/32d-Waitoa Drainage: A, 3-3/32d; B, 2- C, l-31/32d. Such rates to be for the year ending 31st March; 1948, and to be payable to the Collector, in one sum, at the County Office, Tirau, on the 9th day of September, 1947. The Valuation Rolls are open for inspection at the County Office, Tirau, during office hours. Estimates of Expenditure and Receipts in the General Account are as shown hereunder:— EXPENDITURE. NOTICE. taupo toWa TIMBER COMPANY RAILWAY, Arrangements have been made for the Public Works Department to operate the Taupo Totara Timber Company’s Railway as from Ist June, 1947. As from this date all inquiries regarding Freights and Goods should be made to the Stationmaster, N-Z.R., Putaruru.
