WEDDING BELLS
HAMPSHIRE FAULKNER ’ A very pretty wedding was solemnised on October 19 at Knox Presbyterian Church, which had been artistically docorated by friends of the bride, between Beryl Olga, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Faulkner, of Morrinsville, and Roy Reginald, only son of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Hampshire, also of Morrinsville. During the signing of the register Miss Elma Armstrong sang “O, Perfect Love.” Miss Hazel Rowan was organist and the Rev. J. Haslop, of Te Aroha, officiated. The bride entered the church on the* arm of her father, wearing a beautiful gown of magnolia stiffened marquisette over slipper satin, which was fashioned with bishop sleeves, the fully shirred low-waisted bodice featuring a ruffled frill . completely round the heart-shaped yoke, and buttons right down the back. The Voluminous skirt, which fell from soft gathering at the waist to form a long scalloped train edged with a ruffled frill, featured a silk lace rose appliqued on each scallop, tha lace having been worn on the wedding frock of the bride’s mother. Her beautifully embroidered tulle veil, which was worn over the face on entering the church, and was lent by a friend, fell from a topknot ef fuchsias and lily of the valley to
form a second train, while her trailing bouquet was composed of lilac, roses, lily of the valley and asparagus fern. Miss Lorna Faulkner, Palmerstoii North, cousin of the bride, and Miss Zoe Hampshire, sistei- of the groom, attended as bridesmaids, wearing frocks of the same materials as the bride’s, featuring softly gathered bodices and full skirts featuring a spiral effect of roses appliqued on them,, in a deep mandarin tone. This colour was continued' in their Juliet
caps of rouleau work, and ruehed muffs of velvet. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Len Taylor as best man, and Mr. Allan Faulkner as groomsman Mr. Stuart Mclntyre and Mr. Fred Coley were ushc .-s at the. church, and Mr. Trevor Barlow assisted .at the reception.
At the reception, which was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Mrs. Faulkner, who received the guests, wore a model suit of blue matt crepe with navy accessories and cyclamen toned
posy. She was assisted by Mrs. Hampshire, who wore an ensembie of apple green silk crepe with gold accessories and posy. When Mr. and Mrs. Hampshire left on their honeymoon, the bride wore a dressmaker suit of powder blue wool georgette, navy accessories and fur stole. Mr. and Mrs. Hampshire will makj their home in Te Aroha.
