A rare phenomenon occurred at a motor garage premises on Wednesday, when workers were startled to hear a strange rumbling sound speeding across the rooftop. Actually, the noise was caused by a whirlwind which lifted a sheet of glass from a skylight, before depositing it in the right-of-way leading to Thames Street. The glass was carried a distance of 30 to 40 yards. Portion of the iron frame housing the skylight was bent, apparently as the result of suction. -
