Vesper be elected as life member of the club in appreciation of hie long services to the breed and the club. President’s Review Reviewing the year, Mr. Lewis said that membership had remained about the same figure but the finances had become more sound and there- was a credit of £SO with a further £75 in bonds. The bull sale had again been most successful with a high otanda -d, particularly in the yearling classes. Erted:rs had supported the Victory Show of the Matamata A. and P. Association and were to be congratulated on the condition and bloom of their exhibits. Considering the disastrous d ought at the time and the fact that many dairy cattle could then only glean enough feed from the pastures to little more than keep them alive spoke for exhibitom. It was a truly wonderful achievement and a great advertisement for the district.
Now that the ware was over the time was opportune for the club to resume some of its former activities. He suggested the club consider holding a field day or demonstration; also an annual female dale. There were now a number of high class cows and heifers being sold on behalf of breeders at ordinary sales and he felt certain that a pro-perly-counducted female sale would receive ample support from members. The market for good registered yearling heifers this reason had been good and encouraging for many yearlings had fetched higher prices than two-year-old heifers coming to profit. The speaker congratulated Mr. Ted Williams, a member, on b~eeding and winning this year’s Waikato Oaks with Lou Rosa Desert Gold.
Classification had again been carried out all over the district, and thanks were due to Mr. Thompson for organising the southern end and Mr. Gould (secretary) for attending to the northern end. The results achieved were very good and it was to be hoped that more members still would have their cattle classified next time the committee visited the- district. Concluding, Mr. Lewis thanked members for their valuable support and wished them every success in the- future. Officeks Electted The election of officers resulted: Mr. H. 'Lewis; vice-pre-sidents, Messrrj. C. Hazelton, E. T. Williams and J. A. Ranger; secretary and treasurer, Mr. M. E. Gould; committee, Messrs. W. F. Garland, N. M. Colson, F. C. Richmond, J. W.
