The Morrinsville A. and P. Society had taken the precaution to insure its gate receipts against the effect of wet weather, but fortunately both for the society and the insurance company the rain held off. The veteran cow at the Morrinsville Show last week was undoubtedly the champion Milking Shorthorn, Riverdale Plorrie 11., which is IS years of age, and still milking well. She has a record of 7611 b of butterfat, C.0.R., and an average of 6701 b over five years. At the Royal Show she won the English Milking Shorthorn Cup valued at 150 guineas and awarded for production.
