ORANGE BARS 4 Required.—lib white sugar, the jyice and grated rind of one orange, and one teaspoonful of water. Put ,the sugar and water in a pan and boil for ten minutes. Then take the pan from the gas or fire and add the juice and rind of the orange, after which replace the pan on the fife and stir the contents steadily.
As soon as the mixture thickens, pour it into a buttered dish, marking it off into bars when it cools.
