Store cattle pens were well filled, and there was a strong demand for all classes, especially store to forward bullocks. There was a medium number of fat and store sheep penned. MORRINSVILLE. A full yarding of beef and store cattle was offered by the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co. at their sale at Morrinsville on Friday. The general quality was good, a particularly fine line of 41 year Hereford steers being offered. Fifty-eight of these were bought by Mr. G. Proctor, of Orini, at £8 15s a head. With the exception of a few forward conditioned lambs, no fat sheep were yarded, nor were there any ewes on the market. The lambs sold well at late rates. Fat and store pigs showed no tendency to improve, although last sale’s prices were maintained. The demand for weaners was keener. Prices were as follow:

MORRINSVILLE HORSE FAIR. A healthy demand for heavy horses existed at the fair conducted by the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company at Morrinsville on Tuesday. The offering of all classes was good considering that autumn horse sales are not generally as well supported as those held earlier in the season. The attendance of buyers was fair and competition was good on soundquality lines. Heavy farm horses were most sought after and good prices were realised. A keen demand also existed for spring cart sorts, of which there was a good selection. Heavy draughts made from £25 to £3O, and good spring cart sorts £l6 to £22 10s. Aged horses sold from £5 to £lO. There was little demand

for riding hacks, the sale of whicH was slack. The quality of the major* ity was far from satisfactory and bidding in many cases failed to the reserve. Bidding was brighter on good sturdy sorts, whichfcrld more readily. Prices for varied from £7 5s to £ll 10s, wliile others made between £1 10s and £3 7s 6d.
