The semi-final matches -in the banner competition were played last Saturday at Hamilton when Hamilton defeated Te Kuiti and Waikato East defeated Lower Waikato. The final match for the banner will be played at Hamilton on Thursday, March .17, between the winners of Saturday’s games—Hamilton and Waikato East. Last year the Waikato East Association defeated Hamilton (the holders) in the final match, and the Waikato East Association are to he congratulated on having won every match played since the formation of this association some 18 months ago. A first-class contest is expected on Thursday in the final, when Waikato East will be represented by the following : Misses N. and M. Beverley, Andrews, Gamble, Mrs. O’Sullivan, Miss Kusabs; reserves, Misses Parr and Stewart. Dr. Laurenson, A. C. Thompson, E. W. Wright, E. Green, E. D. Ward, N. J. Cox; reserves, E. Turner, L. J. Sole and H. McDonald. WAIKATO V. LOWEE WAIKATO. The East Association won by 15 matches 156 games to 7 matches 125 games.
