WAHAROA ROAD DRAINAGE
OPPOSITION OF HUNG \- HUNGA. County Councillors Mystified.
Further reference to Waharoa road drainage, in the Matamata town district, was made at the monthly meeting of the Matamata County Council at Tirau on Friday. The Hungahunga Drainage Board wrote asking when the council proposed to cut through the ridge on the Waharoa road to allow storm water away, and also advised that the board was determined that no town drain-
age should be discharged into its drainage outlets. Cr. Rollett: They seem to be out and out against the Matamata Town Board.. Supposing that Matamata had never been formed into a town district and the drainage had been put into • the Hungahunga by the council ? Members: There would, have been nothing heard about it. The chairman:! There is evidently something-in it. that we do not understand. h ■<r The. letter was received, and it was decided to- forward a copy to the Matamatar Town Board.
