POWER INTERRUPTIONS.

ON THE PERIA LINE. At last week’s meeting of the 'hames Valley Electric Power Board Ir. Price said that on the Peria line everal interruptions had occurred in ne week. The stoppages were only f a few* minutes each but were durng milking andi caused considerable nconvenience. He had made inquires and all that he could account for he interruptions was that birds on he poles had touched the protectors vith their beaks and thrown the iwitch out at Horahora. He asked he engineer if he knew anything of ;he matter.

The engineer said these occurrences had not been reported to him but he would make inquiries. Later the engineer reported that none of the stoppages was due to trouble on the Peria line, all being caused by the tripping of the switch at Horahora, in connection with the board’s main feeders. There were four stoppages at that time, two being due to lightning, and one ~was due to overload, but the cause of the fourth was unknown.
