Sports Committee.

A meeting of tbe above was held at Stewart's Hotel on Saturday night. I “resent— Messrs Baucke (chairman), Sounes*, G. Avery, V. Meknhck, Turkey, Simpson, H. Sedcole, Beaufort, Briggs, Gregory, Black, and Tosswill (sec). COP. The Secretary notified that Messrs Mollsr and Jenssen had given a very nice cup for competition. After some discussion it was decided on tho motion of Mr Tuckey, seconded by Mr Beaufort, That the cup be given in addition to tbe first prize in the mile handicap. DISOUAI.IFIKD. On the motion of Mr Black, seconded by Mr Sedcole, it was decided that no entry be received from E. Felling, of Masterton, owing to misrepresentation at last sports. It transpired that Felling had entered and won the Maiden, having just previously won an advertised race at Masterton. HANDICAPPEE. Mr Crimp was elected an additional handicapper. RULES or COMPETITION. Moved by Mr Tosswill, seconded by Mr Beaufort, and carried. That the judges and starter* at tho forthcoming sports be guided as far as possible by the rules of competition of the Hawke's Bay Caledonian Society. THE CIRCLE. Moved by Mr Tosswill, seconded by Mr Beaufort, and carried, That if persons other than the office-bearers of the Society and competitors desire admission within the running circle, they can do so upon procuring a ticket from the Secretary, the price of tickets to be ss. PROCESSION. Mr Baucke announced that the Foresters had unanimously decided tbat evening to march in tho procession. The question of making some provision for the children on the ground was discussed. and it was decided that a supply of eatables and drinkables he procured, to be distributed to tbe children during the day.
