POST OFFICE SAVINGS BANKS.

The following are the regulations for the above Bank :

1. Interest at the rate of 41 per cent, per annum is given on 1.200 and under ; at the rate of 4 per cent, tier annum on sums under LSOO ; and in the same proportion for any shorter time on every complete LI deposited, provided that no interest he allowed on more than LfiOO.

2. Depositors in the Post-Office Savings Banks have direct Government security for the prompt payment of their money. 3. A depositor in any one of the Post office Banks may continue his deposit in any other of such Banks, and can w ithdraw his money at that Post-office Bank which is most convenience to him. 4. The strictest secrecy is observed w ith respect to the Names of the Depositors in Post-office Banks, and the amounts ol their deposits. 5. Money may ho deposited hy or on behalf of minors. Depositors over seven years of age are treated as persons of full age, but ininore under seven years of age cannot withdraw their deposits until they have reached the age of seven. G. Applications to the Chief Offices in each Province on the business of I’ostoffioe Savings Banks, and the replies sent thereto uro free from charge or postage.
