ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET.

CHRISTCHURCH, March 20. At the Addington market to-day the yarding of store sheep was estimated at about 45,000, a record for the yards. There were good entries in other departments. Eat cattle and fat lambs sold firmly at previous week’s rates; store sheep were easier, and passings were frequent especially in the case of travelled sheep. Good locally-bred ewes and ewe lambs and forward wethers maintained their values fairly well, but all other descriptions were easier. Fat sheep showed an advance, there being keen competition for export, values being equal to 6|d per lb. over all for wethers, and 6Jd per lb. for ewes. There was a poor sale for store cattle, and most of the yarding was passed. Good dairy cows sold well, as did fat pigs, and there was a moderate demand for store pigs.
