WAR LOAN CONTRIBUTIONS.
AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND
COMPARED,
SYDNEY, March 20. The .Million Club’s luncheon with the object of stimulating investments in the war loan resulted in tho business men present contributing £400,000 and the A.M.P. Society two mil ions. The Hon. W A. Watt instanced New Zealand’s favourable contributions to war loans compared with those of Australia. Since the war started until the present loan closed Australia would have spent 233 millions of loan money on naval and military operations. They had already raised from all sources 105 millions, leaving a shortage of 128 millions and if it was not fortneoming voluntarily then they would have to do it tho other way.
