High Commissioner's Cabled Market Report.

The Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce has received the following cablegram, dated London 10th March, 1918, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand. (Note: Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot). , Meat. —Available quantity not large, but on account of rations present supplies me,et requirements. Supplies consist chiefly of New Zealand lamb, Canadian beef, and English calves, all at maximum prices. English mutton and beef, small supply. Butter and Cheese.—No change since last report, small supply selling at maximum prices.

Hemp. —Manila hemp superior grade is in demand, early delivery. Stockpat 28th February were 31,998 bales against 33,329 bales at 28th February last year.

New Zealand, already shipped continues in active demand. Practically nothing doing forward shipment. Wheat and Oats.—Market very quiet owing to the absence of offers fox account of Government. Official quotations have not changed,
