“RED TRIANGLE DAY.”

it has been decided to observe Saturday, 16th inst., as “Red Triangle Day for the province of Marlborough, though each district is at liberty to hold its function on a day as near as possible to this date. Havelock’s effort will be made at the Town Hall on Friday, 15th inst., when a euchre party and dance, organised by the local Patriotic Committee will be held. Marlborough’s quota of the amount New Zealand is endeavouring to raise, is £ISOO, and it is hoped that this total may be exceeded rather than a smaller sum be recorded. In addition to the various functions that have been organised, a wide personal appeal has been made by the Blenheim Patriotic Association, so that the financial necessities of the Y.M.C.A. have been given a publicity that should result in making “Red Triangle Day” an unqualified success. Cash donations, which will bo duly acknowledged, should be sent to the chairman of the local Patriotic Committee (Mr W. 11. Smith), or the secretary (Mr J. B. Lovell).
