SOUNDS WEDDING.

A pretty wedding of considerable local interest took place on the 11th February at ‘ ‘ Waitata,' ’ Pelorus, when Mias Florence Theresa Harvey, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Edward Harvey, of Canoe Bay, Pelorus Sound, was married to Mr Yerncr Bert Turner, youngest son of Mr and Mrs Robert King-Turner, of “Waitata,” Pelorus Sound. The Rev. Father Henry, of Blenheim, was the officiating minister. The bride was charmingly attired in a dircctoire gown of crcpc-de-chine of the shade of champagne, the upper part of the s worthed bodice being of gold tissue.; the bodice and short skirt were finished with hand-worked cable stitching, the whole being veiled in beautiful shadow lace. An under dress of 'mist' ivory ninon and georgette was faintly visible. The beautiful bridal shower bouquet was interspersed with amber daisies, and to the satin streamers were attached silver horse-shoes, the present of the bridegroom. The Limerick tulle veil was prettily arranged with a coronet of orange buds. Three maids were in attendance; Miss Jessie Turner, sister of the bridegroom was best girl, being gracefully attired in a gown of rich silver grey silk, with pearl and grey georgetho trimmings, she wore a black hat, becomingly underwreathed with pink, and carried a bridal bouquet with tangerine daisies. Miss Bothy Harvey, sister of the bride wore a dainty frock of white embroidered voile and soft lace, a large white hat with floral drape and flowers. Miss Eva McCauley -wore a smart shortskirted costume of ivory Japanese silk, with a neat panama hat to match; both carrying beautiful wdiitc bouquets with ivory satin streamers. The bridegroom 's present to the bride and maids respectively were, gold bangle, ring, pendant, chain and brooch, all being set with rubies and diamonds. The altar for the occasion was beautifully arranged by the girl friends of the bride. Mr Esmonde O'Neill, of Blenheim, performed the duties of best man, Mr William Webb and Private Nathan Gullery being groomsmen. After the ceremony- about ninety guests repaired to the wedding breakfast, -where the wedding cake held place of honour. The usual toasts were honoured and speeches made; the spirit of patriotism was proved predominant by the singing of his national anthem, “The Marscllaiso,” by Rev. Father Henry. This was much appreciated, and also the “ Marsellaiso ’' in Maori -which was sung by Mr Wallace Webber, of French Pass. Mrs Robert King-Turner, mother of the bridegroom, wore a handsome dress of black silk with banded jet satin trimmings and a becoming black picture hat with lavender airgette. Mrs Edward Harvey mother of the bride, wore black silk taffeta with yoke of white ruffled-tulle, small black hat with white spray. Among those present were Mrs George Turner, Tahuna, Waitata Bay, wearing a neat costume of wheat-shade gabardine, cream hat to match. Mrs R. J. hat relieved -with touches of cornflower blue. Mrs A. S. Turner, Bulwer, smart slip-on coat of creme ‘all-embroidery’ over a frock of ivory silk taffeta, inlet with pansies of pale pink satin, smart pink tagel hat. In the evening a reception and dance were held, the unsurpassed music being supplied by the Okaha Native Band, the members of which, being vocalists of no mean tenure, gave several contributions to an interested audience. Various other vocal and pianoforte items were rendered by those present.

Mr and Mrs V. B. Turner left for the South on their wedding tour, intending to return overland, via Otira, Takaka, and Nelson, carrying with them the good wishes of their many friends and relations. —Contributed.
