Mr George Pope proceeds to Wellington to-day to meet his son, Sergt. E. G. Pope, who is expected to arrive in the Empire City on Wednesday. A painful accident befel Mrs C. Leov on the Eai Valley road last Thursday morning. She was riding in a dairy factory cart when the horse took fright and' bolted. When near the Carluke bridge the lady elected to jump over the back of the vehicle and fell heavily on to the road, sustaining a broken wrist and several cuts and bruises on the face. She was brought into Havelock, but after her injuries had received attention was able to return to her home. -T
