LAND BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Marlborough Land Board was held in Blenheim on Tuesday last. There were present: The Deputy-Commisioner of Crown Lands (Mr H. D. McKellor), Messrs J. Fulton, J. S. Storey, A. Mackay, and J. Boyd. W. E. Swafford accepted a renewal of his Education Reserve lease over part section 19, Block XVI., Wakaniarina S.D., for a further term of 21 years. Allen J. Farncll acccpcd a renewal of his Educaion Reserve lease over part section ID, Block XVI., Waknmnrina S D., for a further term of 21 years. Messrs McCallum, Mills, and Spence furnished a declaration by Shalto Gardiner as to loss of renewal lease over scctipn 18, Block \XIV., Wakamarina S. D., and on his behalf applied for the issue of a new lease under section 94 of “The Land Act, 1908.”—Loss to be advertised twice in the local newspaper, and a new lease to issue if no objection received within 30 days of first insertion.of advertisement. Robertson Bros, applied for an extension of time until end of present year for removal of timber from area in Blocks, I. and 11., Heringa S. D., on account of scarcity of sawmill labour. —Extension until 31st December granted, provided lessee when land is selected is not prevented from following the millers and taking every advantage of bush cutting. The Board was requested to reconsider the question of reservation of an area of three acres, being section ‘22, Block X., Linkwater S. D., for a school site. —Held over until the School Committee has an opportunity of entering its protest, with the Education Department. ! Stanley W. Lankow applied for the issue of a Crown grant for section 16, Block 11., Wakamarina S. D., he having effected the necessary improvements. —Refused, insufficient improvements effected. Section 26, Block 1,, Wakamarina S. D., 11a. 3r. 28p. Section 27, Block 1., Wakamarina S.D., 13a. Ir. 15p; transfer from D. W. Mclsaac to R. MeL. Maulc. —Recommended for approval of Minister. Section 8, Block VII., Heringa S. D., 1020 acres. Section 11, Block , VII., Heringa. S.D., 37 acres; transfer from W. Milligan and Alexander' McDowell to Alexander McDowell Recommended for approval of Minis- j ter. —Express.
