PATRIOTIC SOCIAL AT CRAIL BAY

On June 7th the residents of Crail Bay, Pelorus Sound, organised a very success 'vl effort on behalf of the Y.M.C.A. Trench Comforts Fund, About 80 peonic were present, and the proceeds of the night's work showed that the energy of the organisers had not been wasted. Many people, including residents of Havelock, contributed goods for the auction sale, and these Mr H. A. M’Cormick disposed of in his usual efficient style, everything realising a very satisfactory figure. The cash takings were as follows: Sheen guessing £L 10s, door money £4/sale of picture £6 Us, auction sale £4.0 11s, outdoor sports £1 6s, bran pic £3 14s; donations, Mr C. Borck ss, Mr Harding £1 3s, Mr and Mrs Robb £1; total, £6l. In addition to the above everyone brought with them a tin of food or tobacco for the soldiers, and these will be packed and forwarded through the Y.M.C.A.
