A number of willing workers have been preparing for some weeks past for a good display of goods at the several stalls. There will be good sport at the fish-pond for children, and afternoon tea will be procurable. Mrs Buckman, the organiser, will be pleased to receive contributions to the stalls. At the conclusion of the Fanners’ Conference on Saturday the delegates, with the Inclusion of a few representatives from the local bodies, held a reunion at Post Office Hotel. After a splendid dinner had been disposed of, the usual toast list was gone through, Mr 0. Anderson, president of the Sounds Farmers’ Union, presiding. The proceedings were of the most cordial character throughout, and the run of speeches was broken at intervals with a song or recitation. An exceedingly pleasant evening was brought to a close at about 11 p.m. by the singing of ''Auld Lang Syne.” The surplus funds from the function, which included several liberal donations, will be handed to the Y.M.C.A. funds. Before the company dispersed a hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr and Mrs O’Donoghuo for the excellent manner in which they had catered for them, That cough troubles you at night.
