PERSONAL

We understand that the Right Hon. W. F. Massey and Sir Joseph Ward will be back in New Zealand by the end of next month.

The marriage took place on Saturday last of Mr Herbert A. Reader to Miss Helleu Dora Barkway, both of Havelock.

We regret to have to record the death of Mrs Ashling Clark, who died on 7th May at Lyall Bay, Wellington, after a lingering illness. The deceased lady, who was 05 years of age, was well and popularly known in both Blenheim and Havelock in the earlier days,, and lived for mony years at Kaiuma. Mrs Clark was married twice; her first husband was Mr A. H. Passau, who died about twelve years ago. She leaves a widower, three sons and two daughters (all married) to her first husband. Mr Owen Passau, of Kaiuma, is one of the sous. Private John White, who is reported killed in action, enlisted with the Australian Forces at the beginning of the war. He was wounded in the lungs at the landing in Gallipoli, and has since seen much service in Egypt, where he was killed last month while serving in the Camel Corps. The death of Private John White makes the third brother killed in the war, while two others are now serving, and still another has been drawn in the ballot.
