Mr Thomas Edison, as chairman of the United States Naval Consulting Board, is said to bo secretly busy on an invention which it is believed will bo of immense value in warfare. Its nature is carefully guarded. Experiments are being conducted in a concrete structure at Eagle Book, on the summit of Orange Mountain, which towers COO feet above the big Edison plant of West Orange. A few days after the United States broke off relations with Germany the Park Commission of Essex County, which has control of the moutain property, gave Mr Edison permission to use the building. Extensive precautions have been taken to keep secret the nature of Mr Edison 7 s activities on the mountain top. Roads leading to the summit are carefully guarded, and all exits and entrances to the concrete structure save one have been boarded up. The remaining entrance is under guard, and no person except Mr Edison or a member of his personal staff is permitted to approach tho place. Mr T. A. H.
