Ten million pounds fell into the ,liter on the Place de I'Opera, Paris, n a Saturday afternoon recently. \ waggon with £IO,OOO in gold and "i'.Ooii'ooO in bonds and shares was on its way from, the Gare St. Lava ie to the Credit Lyonnais, when or,a of the horses fell down and an axle was broken. The valuables were thrown into the roadway, and one heavy box of gold burst open. The crowd caught sight of the shining coins, but .were kept at a safe distance..
