Oil Boom in Canada
EXTRAORDINARY SCENES New York, May 23. An oil boom is in full swing at Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The owners of a property adjoining the Dingman Well made £200,000 in small accounts. The crowds are so great that dozens of police have been employed to keep order. The entire stock issues of new companies have been subscribed in a day. One hundred new brokers’ offices have been opened. It is doubtful whether the discoveries justify the excitement.
