HAVELOCK SCHOOL COMMITTEE
The monthly meeting of the Havelock school committee took place on Monday evening. Present; Messrs W; Pickering (in the chair) J: Gifford, Eev. Aker. F. Pope, F. Cowper, and the secretary (Mr W. H. Packman). The secretary reported that he had seen Mr Reade in reference to carrying out the repairs to the master’s residence, and also Mr Kees in regard to the new bit of fencing. The master’s report showed that the average attendance for the month had been 56.8, the full number on the roll being 62. SANITARY MATTERS. A communication was received from the Marlborough Education Board in reference to the local committee’s proposal to inatal a septic tank system in connection with the school., Inspector Johnston’s estimate of the cost of such a service for the school and master’s residence was given at about £IOO. The committee were of opinion that the Inspector’s estimate was too high, and it was resolved . after some discussion, that Mr A. Reade be asked to furnipb an estimate for the work, to be forwarded'to the Board for consideration.
