Earl Curzon, of Kedleston, at a meet* iug in London, of the Royal Geographical Society, of which be is president, in an eiopuent eulogy of the dead explorers, said: “He hoped that the bodies would be left there with the snow as their winding sheet, the eternal ice as a tomb, and the solemn Antarctic wastes as a graveyard, in which it pleased God they should sleep. “If we cannot crown him and bis companions with fresh laurel wreaths, at least let us lay onr chaplet of mourning upon their glorious graves.’’
