MYSTERIOUS AIR-CRAFT

The re-appearance of a mysterious airship hovering over the coast line of England at night has caused uneasiness in some quarters as to the possibilities of that form of attack from a foreign power. The appearance of the nocturnal visitor being co-incident with a message from Germany stating that several fully equipped and armed Zeppelins are making prolonged night trips leaves little doubt as to its identity. England is undoubtedly very far behind her Continental rival in regard to air-craft, This fact is evidently recognised by the Defence authorities, for early this month the Aerial Navigation Bill was hurried through the two Houses of Parliament. The Bill prohibits the passage of air-craft in certain areas, or, if necessary, over the whole coast line adjacent to territorial waters. It empowers the authorities, after giving warning by signal, to lire upon offenders. The Bill was the outcome of the recent reported appearance of mysterious airships. ■
